Kankana Pal completed her doctoral research at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, India. She is currently affiliated with a teachers’ training college in Kolkata, where she is engaged in both teaching and academic research. Her primary area of scholarly interest is the integration of technology in school curricula, with a special focus on arts education. Dr. Pal has published research articles in numerous scholarly journals, including work examining the implications of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school curriculum design. Her academic work reflects a strong commitment to advancing innovative pedagogical practices and strengthening the role of digital technologies in contemporary education.
Using Artificial Intelligence in Education examines the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the teaching of social science at the middle school level. Grounded in a clearly identified research gap, the author develops an innovative instructional framework known as the “IoTSSAI Model,” designed systematically to embed emerging technologies in the school curriculum. Drawing on the Standard VIII Social Science textbook prescribed by the CBSE Board, the study presents nine carefully structured lesson plans that demonstrate the model’s practical application. These lesson plans were implemented across four schools in India to assess the instructional effectiveness and pedagogical impact of the proposed approach. The findings indicate that the IoTSSAI Model significantly enhances student engagement and learning outcomes, thereby highlighting technology-driven pedagogy’s potential to strengthen social science education and inform future curriculum development.
